In all areas of life important decisions are based
on the results of chemical quantitative analysis. One of the fundamental principles of valid, cost effective
analytical measurement is
comparability of analytical results.
Participation in proficiency testing schemes (PT-Schemes)
enables laboratories to assess and demonstrate
comparability and reliability of their measurement data by
comparison with results from other laboratories.
The importance of PT is recognized in ISO 17025
where participation in those studies is
emphasized as an important component
of any system of laboratory quality assurance.
Our PT-Schemes are designed to show how the results
from an individual laboratory compares with
those from other participants.
The test scheme is based on
international accepted documents as ISO 17043.
Each participant receives a set of samples and analyses samples with a free choice of methods and parameters. About four weeks after receipt of samples, analytical results are submitted and subjected to statistical analysis.
About four weeks after receipt of analytical results
laboratories are informed about their results.
Each participant is confidentially advised
of its own performance and of the anonymous group results,
together with statistical evaluations,
and where possible, of the individual methods.
The current topics and dates of PT-Schemes are
represented on the following pages.
